Erin Shadowleaf – Chapter 3: Alina

“He put me through days of hellish torture before finally sucking out my soul and spewed it into a glowing orb. He then went on to mutilate this body and twisted it to his will before putting me back inside,” said Erin calmly, facing the cliff as she recalled what happened. “I’m here, alive, but dead.”

“I see.” Said the Priestess, holding back her anger and tears from behind her former student. Erin turned to reveal streams of tears flowing down her marble cheeks. She had recalled every single moment in great pain.

“I don’t know what to do, Priestess! I tried to kill myself, but I can’t die! FEAROTH WOULD NOT LET ME DIE!”

*******

Erin shrieked in agony as her body began to rebuild itself after she dove into a pit of molten steel. She suffered the pain that would have killed a Titan, but her soul refused death.

“A worthy effort, but no less futile,” said Fearoth as he stood from the edge of the fiery pit.

“You see, Erin. I have your soul bound to this world by my powers. It’s a demonic curse so powerful that not even Elune whom you worship so much could ever save you.” He continued to observe the tongues of fire lashed across the newly regenerated skin, forcing it regenerate again.

“Simply put, you won’t die unless I let you.”
“WHY! WHY ME!?”
“Oh shush, I need you to do a job for me. Not that I couldn’t get someone else to do, or do it myself – I just hate you. I want to torture you, and make you suffer, hahaha…” explained the demon as an evil chuckle escaped his toothy grin.

Erin broke down in tears. She has been reduced to a sobbing mess on all fours, a poor crying girl shivering uncontrollably as she tried to speak through her sobs. Tyrande could only watch in sympathy at the broken girl who once tamed a Chimera all by herself.

“He killed the Watchers! He eliminated the Moonrunners! Enslaved the dryads! BUT HE REFUSED TO LET ME DIE!”

A steam of demonic energies escaped from the crevices between her scales. Tyrande had already figured out what it was that Fearoth wanted. She quietly uttered some enchantment of her own.

“HE KILLED ALINA!!”

*******

Erin climbed out of the pit, her body still continuously regenerating itself. She crawled for a few inches before slumping to the ground, void of any strength to even lift her head.

“There, there. Let me bring someone to cheer you up,” said Fearoth.

Slow and heavy footsteps were heard as it approached Erin closer and closer. She looked up to see a rotting corpse lurching at her. It was hunched forward, with limbs hanging by a few threads of rotting muscle that could fall off any moment. It had a big harpoon sticking out of its right lung, covered in dried blood.

“No. Fearoth, you beast! You couldn’t have…” Erin knew who it was.

The cadaver moved closer and got on its knees. Its left eyeball was hanging out of its socket and parts of its brain were spilling out of the skull.

“Kiss her…” commanded Fearoth to the drooling zombie. “…Alina.”
“Yes, Master.”
