Small Talk:
Albert wins the frappucino! I named my new partitions using two of his suggested names.
They are now Stash, Lab, Keeper and Cargo. Bolded names were Albert’s suggestions :D
There aren’t many things that stood the test of time when it comes to my possessions.
Except for one item. My wristwatch.

It’s a Casio DW-6900, part of the famed G-Shock series that was widely popular back in the late 90’s. It’s without a doubt, one of, if not the most, loyal companions I’ve ever had. It was a present that I got for my 15th birthday from my sister, back in 2000.
Not many things have remained with me for a long time.
Friends have come and gone.
Crushes have appeared and disappeared.
Sarah stayed for a while, but her Ghost found a better place.
I’ve changed phones and phone numbers a few times already.
But not this watch.
This Casio timepiece, which I didn’t even give a name, has been with me since PMR. I have it set at 24-hour format so I don’t have to figure out if its 7 AM or 7 PM when I wake up to a twilight sky. The times I have left home without it, my left wrist would feel naked. Proof of this is the silly-looking tan line that marks its place.
Over the years, I’ve only changed its battery once, in 2004, when its battery died for the first time. It’s strap has broken a few times, but I always manage to get suitable replacements for less than RM15. It’s black, so it complements almost anything I wear. It glows blue, which is a colour I like. It’s got a stainless steel back, so it doesn’t itch when I sweat.
The countdown timer helps kick in the adrenaline when I need to get something done in a short time. Its buttons have been durable and still work like the day I got it, seven years go. The paint that filled the embossed letterings have faded and scratch marks visible across the surface of its PVC housing, but the large grey button under the main screen, with a large G embossed on it, sticks out proudly, always ready to activate the blue backlight when I need to know the time during the dark hours.
It has been serving me well, my black Casio wristwatch. It’s still going on strong as I march into the 23rd year of my life. It has been my humble servant, my loyal companion, my reliable friend.
I dedicate this post to you, as a token of my gratitude to your loyalty.

Thank goodness it’s not G(ay)-Shock.
