For photos during my trip to Egypt, I’ve decided to blog them in series of photography travelogs. Instead of talking about the trip - which is way too long and too dragging for you to read - I think I’ll just post batches of the best better pictures from key events that happened during the trip.

To kick things off, I’ll start with Al-Kaherah - better known by its english name, Cairo - current capital city of Egypt and home to the last remaining Wonder of the Ancient World; The Great Pyramids of Giza.

They were a most spectacular sight to behold, truly scenic and totally marvelous. Unfortunately, there were just too many tourists around the site, making it difficult to compose a decent photo. Nonetheless, The Great Pyramids stood tall, serene and majestic, almost as though they are sleeping giants.

It was a cold winter evening in Cairo, and this guy was smart enough to go around offering hot coffee which he’d mix there and then. They were expensive, though.

I’ve seen them on TV, looked at them in various photos, but nothing - and I mean NOTHING - comes close to being right there in front of them. When I stepped off the bus and laid my first gaze upon them at point blank, I swear to God, my heart skipped a beat. It was breathtaking, and truly fascinating. To be frank, there was no word that could describe how I felt at that moment.
Unfortunately, I was the only person in the whole tour group to have felt that way. Everyone else just thought of it as ‘just another ruins site’ and decided to move on before I could immerse myself and bathe in the glory of the Pyramids. What a real shame.

The next stop was a place called Ahmed Perfume Palace. As the name implies, it produces pure essences from over 20 different fragrant flowers and plants, and they also produce a variety of fragrant blends, and some are aromatherapeutic, and one blend - aptly named Secret of the Sahara - is even aphrodisiatic! One blend that I bought is that of mint and a couple other soothing scents and - yes, that’s right - it’s to clear up a stuffy and/or runny nose due to flu! Just drip a drop or two into a cup of steaming hot water, inhale the vapor and voila! Your nose feel fresh and relieved!
A lovely dinner followed before a good nights rest and the next day was a new adventure.
