Whoohoo. Thank you dear kind minister sir, for coming up with yet another campaign to raise patriotism among Malaysians! Let’s show the rest world how much we love our flag by TAKING ACTION ON PEOPLE WHO DON’T RAISE THEIR FUCKING FLAGS.

Corporate organisations and rich homes in the Klang Valley have been told to fly the Jalur Gemilang during the National Day celebrations or “someone may pay them a surprise visit.”

“Last year, many corporate buildings and well-heeled houses failed to raise the flag. But this year, we are going to take action,” said National Day organising committee chairman Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim.

“Even though the action is only by means of turning up at their doorsteps to enquire why they have failed to display the flag, it can be humiliating for them,” he told reporters after the committee met the respective state secretaries at the Malaysia Handicraft Complex here yesterday.

“If the committee members receive any information on corporate organisations and well-heeled houses failing to raise the national flag during the one-month celebration, they will not hesitate to take action,” added Dr Rais, who is Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister.

You know, this seriously reminds me of the time when they wanted movie-goers to sing the national anthem before the movie starts screening. Pfft, so much for that campaign. Beer ads seem to be getting more screentime [Hey, who cares about the bottles of beer? It's the hot chicks in skimpy clothes getting wet, man!]

Look, if you wanna make people show their patriotism, you want them to be patriotic just for one month? What kind of half-assed patriotism is that? Oh wait, I know, I’m sure it’s called ass-kissing patriotism.

Patriotik konon. What have you done so far that entitles you to the title of being a patriot? Eh, sedar la sikit! And yet you have the gall to actually WARN the hardworking people of this country for not actually raising their flag in show of ass-kissing patriotism like you do.

Are you blind or just plain stupid?

You wanna see a show of patriotism? Look at the people. Don’t just say ‘I see them’. ‘Seeing’ is different than actually ‘looking’. Observe at the hardworking salarymen of this country. School teachers, nurses, doctors, factory workers, farmers. Students, even.

Even if each individual works for their own personal benefit, none of them have ever forgotten the fact that they were able to do so thanks to the mercy of the land. The grace of the country. They work not just for themselves, they work to provide for a better society, and to a better country.

Targetting corporate organisations and rich homes? You’re being too bloody obvious, you wrinkly old tards, looking for your ass-kissing kin. Sheesh. Forcing patriotism down people’s throats isn’t the way to go, if that’s what you really intend to do [that lump you see in my cheek is my tongue].

You wanna instill patriotism, you educate, you enlighten and you encourage. You don’t pry the people’s mouths open and pour your gooey sludge down and expect them to swallow and be content with it.

Use your brain. If you have one, that is.
