Critics and What Not.
April 29th, 2006No, I haven’t watched Gubra.
Yes, I want to watch it.
No, I don’t have the time.
But that doesn’t keep me from being amused at how the Yasmin’s films keep getting criticised. One particular genius made a comment that could send Einstein rolling in his grave;
“A pious wife would not allow her husband to cook,”
HAHAHAHAHA. OMFG that’s hilarious. Pious girls, stay away from me, cause cooking is my passion and food is my life. Unless your cooking sends me into eternal ecstasy, don’t even think of keeping me out of the kitchen. And then there’s the thing about sex workers, [prostitutes, most likely] I can’t help but laugh at the kind of mentality these people have.
They also charged that the ‘bilal’ in ‘Gubra’, who together with his wife, were friendly with sex workers in their neighbourhood, was unfit to be a ‘bilal’.
“He should have called the religious authorities to catch them. What kind of ‘bilal’ allows these activities to continue in his neighbourhood?” one of them said.

I’m suddenly reminded of a quote by Einstein [thanks Ganaesh] I’m not sure if its Einstein, or Newton or some other paradigm shifters. It went something like this;
There are two things that are infinite, the universe and human stupidity.
And I’m not so sure about the universe.

That’s Einstein’s quote, right there.
I agree. These people are idiots.
I love prostitutes , so sue me ulamas !!! XD
“a pious wife would not allow her husband to cook” ?!?!
WTFH.
this is exactly the type of extremely annoying unwarranted conservative thinking by delusional idiots that i hate so damn much. pressuring society into narrowly defined morals which are so-called islamic-based. my friend’s parents take turn cooking all the time and i tell ya, they’re one of the most loving and islamic families i’ve ever seen. give me a good hadith or quran verse and i’ll concede. else, dont waste ur self-righteous breath.
to silencer : u wont let ur wife cook? MARRY ME! =P actually, no lah, since i
lovelike cooking as well. but i like ur fresh outlook.Silencers: Of course I’d let
youmy wife cook. Why would I forbid her from doing such a divine calling? I’m a pious man. I’m so pious even cats look at my piousness in awe.alamak, there’s supposed to be a strikethrough through ‘love’ at the end bit. code tak menjadi, yeeshh…-_-
I agree as well and I wouldn’t want to be banned from cooking.
