Welcome to the family, Alyaa Hermaini :)

The Aqiqah is a ceremony where Muslim parents would celebrate their gift of a child from Allah, by sacrificing a goat or lamb and distribute or feed it the poor or family and friends. It was a sunnah started by Rasulullah SAW himself who “sacrificed a goat each for his grandsons Hasan and Husain.” [source]

Alyaa has yet to open her eyes, though. I wonder what she’s going to be like when she starts talking.

Technical Details:
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30
Mode: Manual
Flash: External Slave Flash [bounced*]
Esposure: 1/125 sec at F/208
ISO: 200

*The ceiling in the living room was pretty high for me to bounce the flash. Unfortunately for me, the Vivitar flash I owned lacks a light meter to measure the amount of ambient light hence, incapable of controlling its output.

I sloved this by pointing the flash at 60° and taped a blank white card on the flash like so;

That way, I still get to shower the subject[s] with sufficient light, but not with one that’s too harsh. This is because only a portion [not 100%] of the entire flash output bounces off card, and since the card is an opaque [instead of shiny] surface, it diffuses and softens the already low amount of light that bounces off it.

Congrats on the new addition!

Yay! Congrats! :)
