SELANGOR FUCKING WON THE FA CUP!!! That’s right suckers, GO HOME LAR PERAK!! TAK TERKEJOR YOB!!! MWAKHAKAKHAKHAKAHKAHA

Now, if you know me well enough, I’m not the type who really gives a shit about football. But even if I say that, I still enjoy watching a good football match, even though I couldn’t be bothered to educate myself on football politics and ongoings. One of my fondest memories of watching local football is back in the 90′s when the local football scene was raw and ablaze.

One of the most memorable matches was Pahang VS Selangor, I can’t remeber what year it was, but back then Zainal Abidin Hassan was still on the field. I remember how Selangor won that match by a single goal during injury time. It was amazing. I watched it with my uncles and cousins, and when ball flies to the net everyone yells out GOAL!! and if it goes in, it would continue with a chear and standing ovation, otherwise, a just huge sigh.

The match tonight was probably the most intense local football match I’ve ever seen in years. Lately the quality of local football has been deteriorating over the years, and I kinda gave up watching them. But tonight was different. I was just there at the restaurant with my brother having dinner when we noticed something special about the match.

The fans have returned to the stadiums.
They came with roars, painted faces, giant flags, drums, gongs and even firecrackers.
They were loud, and they were alive.

When there’s a goal there would huge cheers, gigantic mexican waves, drum beats and even the explosions of firecrackers. I have no idea how they managed to sneak those in, but they did. And that made the whole event more exciting. The young, the old, and the ones in between, they were all present, cheering for their teams eager to see them bring the victory home. It was amazing. Just plain amazing. Selangor won 4-2 againt Perak tonight in a kind of match that I never thought I would see again in the local scene.

There might be, at least, some hope for us.
