Cold Flowing Water

May 16th, 2005

I rallied up the guys again for another trip to Sg. Congkak, just that this time we brought a lot less food than our last trip. Oh speaking of food, I prepared a pretty lovely marinade I made up myself for the chicken wings we planned to grill. Simple ingredients you can find in the kitchen are all you need. This is for 12 pieces of wings;

- salt [1 tbsp]
- corn flour [1 tbsp]
- olive/sesame oil [1 tbsp]
- freshly ground pepper [1 tbsp]
- garlic, half a bulb
- ginger, 3cm
- oyster sauce, generous
- honey, generous

1. Rinse the wings properly, and mix them with the salt and corn flour to kill off the smell. Let them be for 15 mins before rinsing them again.

2. Add in the olive oil and pepper, mix well.

3. Mince the garlic and ginger and mix well, make sure you don’t waste single drop of the juices. Toss onto the wings and mix well.

4. Add in the oyster sauce and honey. Make it 2 parts oyster sauce, 3 parts honey. Mix well. Leave in the fridge overnight. Pour some diluted chicken stock if you want to more sauce.

And well, basically we hiked up the hill again, and grilled most of the food we brought, including the yummy marshmallows. The water was clean, clear and cold as usual and I enjoyed every single moment of it.

On the way home, we made a detour to grab some cendol to just to kill off the fatigue :p Ah, another good day. I’m tired, and I got a movie to catch tomorrow. Better sleep. Yeah, that should explain why I’m not doing any descriptive writing as I normally would, lol.
