After 3 bloody long weeks of waiting, the technician finally decided an appointment to setup the Streamyx connection we applied for. Since 3 of my housemates were away for a society camp, and one left for a movie date, it’s only me and Loki at home.

Anyway, I was up the whole night, as usual. So this morning Yun Chuan told me before he left, “Ey, the streamyx guy, gona come at 2 later, make sure you look out what he does.” There hav been reported cases of robbery by supposedly Streamyx technicians. A simple nod, as off he goes.

So, bored as usual, I went ahead and watched Gunslinger Girls. The name sounded like it was an action-packed comedy. I mean, come on. Cute girls weilding SMGs and snipers? That’s just cool, i thought. Boy was I wrong. It was a cute anime with a dark story. VERY dark story. It sent me chills, to be honest. But it was good. Haven’t finished watching, though.

The clock then hit 12 when I decided to grab lunch. The wheather was nice. Windy and cloudy. Just the way I like it. Lunch was uneventful, but it tasted swell. The restaurant sure knows how to do Middle Eastern stuff. Later I went to Irelax, the cybercafe next door, for a few games of Warcraft 3 on B.net. Connection was surprisingly smooth. Minimal lag. And won a few RT games. The last match was especially funky. I’m starting to believe all those complaints about B.net’s fucked up AMM [Automatic Match-making] system. My team consisted of myself at lvl 10, and two lvl13 guys. The other tam, had a lvl 35, and lvl 30, and lvl 11. To make it even better, one of my allies dropped out at the start of the game. How nice.

Two mediocre lvl players against 3 high lvl ones. This oughta be fun, I thought. But we’ll include the details later lah.

When I reached home, it was already 2pm. As expected the guy won’t be here at 2. So I went ahead and watched a few Cyberllama replays and play a few games myself while waiting.

3 pm, still no streamyx guy. Fixed myself a drink, and continued watching Gunslinger Girls.

4 pm, still no streamyx guy. Too sleepy to carry on, so I took a nap.

5 pm, my phone rang. It was Justin.

Me: Helloo….*yawn*
Justin: Hey, the streamyx guy is there
Me: No, he’s not here yet…*yawn*
Justin: No, he’s already there!
Me: Who..?*yawn*
Justin: The streamyx guy!
Me: uhuh…
Justin: The streamyx guy is in front of the house, open the door for him!
Me: Oh.

Blurry, I was also a bit pissed at the lateness but glad that the technician actually made it. So, after about 15 mins meddling around phone lines and my network settings, I got myself a live broadband connection. The only thing left is that my account needs 48 hours to be cleared for inspection ofs tability and shit. Thing is, by Monday I should be able to have broadband access. Oh well, we still have to buy a router if we were to connect the two lines [yeah, we applied for two 512kb lines].

But hell, I’m lovin it.
